Netflix Buys Rights to WWE Raw, Other Shows in Live Streaming Push – Netflix is the latest streaming service to get into live sports. The streaming giant is acquiring the rights to WWE Raw for $5 billion. Now you may not be a pro wrestling fan, but the agreement highlights the opportunities companies such as Netflix, Amazon, Disney and Paramount Global see in live-streaming sporting events. So enjoy watching your local team for free … for now. CBS News has more.

The Sports Illustrated Cover, a Faded Canvas That Once Defined Sports – It’s cliche to say media’s changing, but news regarding Sports Illustrated this week hit hard. For 70 years SI has been one of the most respected publications of any topic and, making the cover of the magazine could be both a blessing and a curse. The New York Times looks back.

The Harvard of the Unwoke – Universities are in a time of crisis. Constant debates about free speech, coupled with demonstrations about the war in Gaza have created almost daily nightmares for many university leaders. Of course this all came to a head recently with the Congressional hearings which led to the presidents of Harvard University and the University of Pennsylvania stepping down. That said, the University of Florida is seizing on this opportunity. The Wall Street Journal explains.

Facebook Made a Major Change After Years of PR Disasters, and News Sites Are Paying the Price – You might not stop and think about it, but Facebook has had a major effect on news organizations. For years the platform has been an incredible tool for news outlets to share their content and grow their audience. But now Facebook is getting out of news, and their rationale is pretty sound. CNBC takes a closer look.

How Group Chats Rule the World – How many group chats are you on? If you’re like most of us, more than you can remember. Group chats (or texts) provide us more information (and distraction) than we might realize, including updates on the neighborhood, pickleball, book club, family (God forbid someone has a birthday or anniversary) and so much more. The New York Times looks at the pros and cons of this constant phenomenon.
