This week we are pausing The Flack in honor of our dear friend and colleague Mike Casey

On Saturday, Jan. 6, he died unexpectedly in his sleep. Mike was 53 and is survived by his wife, Marilyn, and son, Patrick.

The word flack was first used as a noun meaning “publicity agent” during the late 1930s. According to one rumor, the word was coined in tribute to a well-known movie publicist of the time, Gene Flack.
